KLOSET ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the KLOSET mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: email address and password when you create an account
- Profile information: name, profile photograph, and family member details you add
- Wardrobe data: photographs and metadata for clothing items you add to your Kloset
- Style preferences: outfit notes, diary entries, wishlist items, and style wall inspirations
- Trip information: destinations, dates, and packing list data you create
Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage data: features used, screens visited, and interaction patterns (anonymised)
- Location data: approximate location used to fetch weather for trip planning (only when you use the trip feature and only with your permission)
Information from third parties
- Authentication providers: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google
- Payment processors: subscription payment data is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play — we do not store payment card details
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the KLOSET Service
- Process your wardrobe items using AI image recognition (via Anthropic Claude API)
- Generate outfit recommendations, trip packing lists, and style insights tailored to your wardrobe
- Send transactional emails such as account verification and password resets
- Manage your subscription and process payments
- Respond to your customer support requests
- Ensure security and prevent fraud
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your personal wardrobe photographs or data to train AI models. Your wardrobe data is used solely to provide the Service to you.
3. AI Processing
KLOSET uses Anthropic Claude AI to analyse clothing images and generate outfit recommendations. When you photograph a clothing item or request outfit suggestions:
- Images are compressed and transmitted securely to Anthropic's API for analysis
- Anthropic processes images to identify garment type, colour, fabric and other metadata
- Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy
- We do not store raw images on Anthropic's servers — only the extracted metadata is retained in your KLOSET account
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database service with servers located in the European Union. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS
- Encryption of data at rest
- Row-level security ensuring you can only access your own data
- Regular security audits and access controls
Wardrobe images are stored in secure cloud storage. While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We share data with Anthropic (AI processing), Supabase (database), RevenueCat (subscription management), and other essential service providers under strict data processing agreements
- Family sharing: If you choose to share your Kloset with family members, those members can view your shared wardrobe items
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KLOSET, our users, or others
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data — available directly in the app via Profile → Delete Account
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
- Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

7. Children's Privacy
KLOSET is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The children's wardrobe features in KLOSET are managed by the parent or guardian account holder, and any data about children (such as clothing items or names) is associated with the adult account.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at privacy@kloset.style.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The KLOSET mobile app does not use cookies. Our website (kloset.style) may use essential cookies to ensure proper function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on our website.
9. Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
10. International Transfers
KLOSET is operated from the United Kingdom. If you are located outside the UK or EU, your information may be transferred to and processed in the UK and other countries. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through a prominent notice in the app. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
